Supply Memories: Our Social School Supply Drive Is Live

By    July 24, 2012

I’m excited to announce our new social media charity campaign is up and running. Trading Facebook shares and Tweets for donations, Supply Memories benefits a school supply drive for Communities In Schools of Central Texas, a nonprofit focused on dropout-prevention.

The interactive pay-it-forward model invites social media users to reveal what memento they’ve “stored” (get it?) since grade school, cueing SpareFoot to make a donation on your behalf. Sharing a memory through Facebook and Twitter portals – adorably designed by Dev Intern Jordan in a hand-drawn style reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite – gives at-risk students the supplies they need to make their own memories.

For every memory shared, SpareFoot will donate $3 worth of basic supplies for one student. Each kit includes a notebook, pens, pencils, paper, an eraser, and the symbol of our brand— a ruler. How cute is that?

It could not be easier to make this school year the best ever for students in need. To participate on Facebook, visit http://on.fb.me/Nlx6qe. To participate on Twitter, visit homepage supplymemories.com. While you’re there, you may want to hover over locker number 720 toward the bottom (our office address is 720 Brazos).

Rachel does marketing at SpareFoot. Her favorite movie is The Big Lebowski, favorite color is black, favorite food is cheese, and favorite band is the Pixies. She aspires to make self-storage fun and to make her dog and cat cuddle each other.
